Prin activitatea sa, sec\u021bia contribuie la cre\u0219terea competitivit\u0103\u021bii produselor vitivinicole, la implementarea solu\u021biilor moderne orientate spre sustenabilitatea ramurii \u0219i la adaptarea sectorului la cerin\u021bele pie\u021bei interna\u021bionale.Activitatea sec\u021biei este structurat\u0103 pe trei direc\u021bii majore: cercetare-dezvoltare-implementare, prestarea serviciilor \u0219i preg\u0103tirea cadrelor. \u00cen cadrul cercet\u0103rii, accentul este pus pe analiza fizico-chimic\u0103 \u0219i organoleptic\u0103 a vinurilor, studiul factorilor care influen\u021beaz\u0103 calitatea \u0219i siguran\u021ba produselor alcoolice, precum \u0219i pe dezvoltarea de tehnologii noi de distilare, maturare \u0219i \u00eenvechire a distilatelor. Totodat\u0103, sec\u021bia este implicat\u0103 \u00een elaborarea \u0219i actualizarea standardelor \u0219i specifica\u021biilor tehnice, \u00een armonizarea cadrului normativ na\u021bional cu cel european \u0219i interna\u021bional, contribuind astfel la modernizarea \u0219i reglementarea sectorului vitivinicol.Un domeniu important \u00eel constituie cercet\u0103rile privind producerea vinurilor spumante \u0219i efervescente, at\u00e2t prin fermenta\u021bie secundar\u0103, c\u00e2t \u0219i prin impregnare exogen\u0103 cu dioxid de carbon. De asemenea, sunt realizate evalu\u0103ri tehnologice ale noilor soiuri \u0219i clone de struguri, testarea \u0219i implementarea adjuvan\u021bilor \u0219i materialelor auxiliare \u00een procesul de vinificare.Sec\u021bia desf\u0103\u0219oar\u0103 \u0219i cercet\u0103ri \u00een microbiologia vinifica\u021biei, studiind rolul microorganismelor \u00een fermenta\u021bie \u0219i maturare, selec\u021bion\u00e2nd noi su\u0219e de levuri \u0219i men\u021bin\u00e2nd Colec\u021bia Ramural\u0103 de Microorganisme pentru Industria Oenologic\u0103 (CRMIO).Pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 cercetare, sec\u021bia ofer\u0103 servicii de analiz\u0103, consultan\u021b\u0103 \u0219i suport tehnologic pentru produc\u0103tori, sprijinind implementarea inova\u021biilor \u0219i optimizarea proceselor de produc\u021bie.
